This delightful Cross Stitch book by Liberty was published just before Christmas, and not advertised as fully as it’s more commercial “Home Sewing” companion.

The designs created by Helene Le Beurre are unashamedly used to enlarge and enhance the timeless Liberty prints.  Stitched mainly on classic bases this really is a lovely project book for lovers of contemporary cross stitch.

She makes up the items into some interesting projects – some of which are perfect mini stitch projects which can be used as gifts (like the jewellery).  Of course the items will work best with the complementing Liberty print – but I think that the designs are strong enough to stand up on their own.

At only £7 on Amazon it is surely worthy to add to your collection?

Supersize Stitches Book – Shoot Part 2

Yesterday was the second shoot of my book SUPERSIZE STITCHES which is due out in September this year…  it was rather fabulous to have a jaunt out of the office, and watch a team of lovely talented people making my stitched creations look fab.

The photographer RUSSELL SADUR made it all look so easy – and the stylist ALICE KING had bags and bags of delightful prop goodies, which made everything look so pretty.

The first shoot was in Queens Park (London), but the house yesterday in Crouch End (nr Alexander Palace) was a gem – and Andy and Sue made us all feel very welcome.

I cant at the moment share any of the finished shots, but I did take a couple of ‘snaps’ of behind the scene action..

Jubilee Stitching

60 years ago today, on the 6th February 1952 Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne.  Her coronation was held on the 2nd June and 2012 marks her Diamond Jubilee (only Queen Victoria before her has celebrated a reign this long).  Over the weekend of 2-4th June there is an extra bank holiday and a number of national events and celebrations to mark this national occasion….

We are proud to be British at JACQUI P and I have over the years created quite a few patriotic things to stitch… as well as some new lines which we are launching over the coming weeks..so why not be crafty in celebrating this great event…

New Decorative Gift Tape

Our new decorative gift tape designs have landed at our sister brand Pearl and Earl‘s HQ and we have been playing with them all weekend.  The kids favourites are the BOYS AND GIRLS tapes.. which they have have fun making cards with.
Personally we think they make a great quick wrap idea teamed with our candy striped bags…  or to jazz up some simple brown paper wrapping…. we have 2 versions of our NO PEEKING tape – one is a simple big stamp (240mm long) and the other is a typographic montage which works really well as an alternative ribbon (whether its Christmas or any celebration)

We were super thrilled this month that the lovely folk at Easy Living Magazine have picked little old Granny Knits as one of its very favourite websites.  “Where bright bold colour meets nostalgic tradition” … Bea has summed us up perfectly!

Plus we were one of the top 3 draught excluders too..  one of our old favourites Baby Its Cold Outside.  It is always so lovely to see our hard work in the press – thank you!
