Our new decorative gift tape designs have landed at our sister brand Pearl and Earl‘s HQ and we have been playing with them all weekend. The kids favourites are the BOYS AND GIRLS tapes.. which they have have fun making cards with.
Personally we think they make a great quick wrap idea teamed with our candy striped bags… or to jazz up some simple brown paper wrapping…. we have 2 versions of our NO PEEKING tape – one is a simple big stamp (240mm long) and the other is a typographic montage which works really well as an alternative ribbon (whether its Christmas or any celebration)

Nostalgic Events and Chic Decorations
Well it is no surprise that “We Love a Good Do” here at Granny Knits .. so it was only a matter of time before we launched our own collection of things to host the most chic celebration!.. which we have in conjunction with our sister brand Pearl and Earl
Most of the celebrations in our lives have had a DIY spin on it – from the home designed wedding invitations and stationery and every kids party in between… my approach has usually been based around a “theme” which we inevitably go to town on in our own mad cap nostalgic style! From our pumpkin bread rolls at Halloween to the DIY paper bunting for the Royal Wedding…
Inspired by Amy Atlas the Dessert Bar Queen from NYC (see top pic).. we thought maybe there were more of you out there who loved and craved these nostalgic accessories for your event/wedding/party and wanted something “a little different”
Hey presto.. we designed, we sourced and now the first phase is here!
Starting with a collection of NOSTALGIC DECORATIONS including a plethora of honeycomb PAPER BALLS, PAPER BELLS, PAPER HEARTS, GARLANDS and STREAMERS these are exclusively designed and made by us… including our new PAPER STRAWS..
We stock 11 colours and 12 shapes and sizes – but can do bespoke designs in up to 26 pantone matched colours for wholesale, trade and catering clients… but for now they are simply delighting us here at Granny Knits HQ ready for the Wedding Season and dare we say it Christmas!
Check out the Pearl and Earl site for the full collection

Phew… made it!
Well last night we packed our final 60 kits and passed out at 3am… today we were finishing up the last of the Pearl and Earl printed bits and making sure we had sent out all competition winners and final bits to those who were waiting….
Now it is time to pat ourselves on the back, crack open a bottle of bubbles and close the doors for Christmas…
It is a bit of bus mans holiday as I am looking forward to testing out some new craft ideas and stitching up a few pressies to stick under the tree!
Happy Christmas to you all and THANK YOU for all your support this year… and we look forward to getting crafty with you in the New Year.
Cheers! Love from Jacqui, Mr H and the Granny Knits Crew
PS – we reopen properly on 4th JANUARY but will be packing, posting and responding to emails on odd days (we just cant help ourselves!) so email us at info@grannyknits.com if you need to!..
Kitsch Christmas at our house
Christmas arrived a little later than normal in our house this year… you will be aware that we have been a little inundated!.. normally everything is up on the 1st by order of the kids!
But as we turned into the 2nd week of December, my 5 year old daughter had waited long enough and decided to pull rank and organise her dad up to the loft and put the girls on decorating duty.. Mr H pulled in our 8 foot beauty from the garden and I managed to make the 2 reception rooms look suitably festive and hide the carnage on the other floors!!
We bought a few new bits for this year as I found a stash of vintage decorations on one of my shopping trips – which I was more than a little excited about.. the taste level is pure kitsch and colour (very on brand we feel) and super sized too this year.
We found a fresh garland in town and garnished it with pom poms with a monster paper one as the centre piece in the snug … whilst the new glass decorations adorned the ‘grown up room’ and tree.. scattered as well as hung! We also filled up our bay window with the 60cm massive pink bells – now there’s a statement piece for you!…
Now for that glass of mulled wine… and sneaky mince pie!

Snow and Delivery Update
This week has been a week of ‘mop ups’ after the snowfall over the previous few weeks (our busiest in the year and indeed record weeks for us!)
Whilst most of the snow disappeared from Arundel by last weekend, the week long back log at the local depots (during their busiest time) has left courier companies refusing to take parcels, and taking them up to 2 weeks to deliver them. We are still waiting for some frame wood to be delivered to our framer, red yarn from Scotland and prints sent only last week from up the road at our printers…. They simply are over whelmed and no amount of frustration vented will change the situation.
Sadly it also means that whilst we have been dispatching 1st class recorded (avoiding the couriers who are in a worse state) the parcels are still being delayed and are taking a lot longer than anticipated… this is especially true if the delivery is routed through Gatwick, Kent, Yorkshire or Scotland.
Obviously these things are out of our control, but we are upgrading all future deliveries to special delivery, and we have roped in some extra help to ensure everything is dipatched this week.!
Our last order date is now WEDNESDAY 15th December to ensure we leave plenty of scope for dispatch before we close.
We have of course been inundated with worried customers all asking if their goods will be with them for Christmas. Forgive us if we are not as quick to respond as normal – but we are concentrating on getting all of your goods out to you as quickly as possible.
The deliveries are much longer than predicted, but these are exceptional circumstances and we wanted to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.
We will be closed for the holidays from the 18th until the New Year – so will not have manned phones or dispatch during this time. We will be following up any delivery queries on emails, and please be assured we are doing all we can to get your goodies to you.
Thank you … Jacqui, Mr H and the weary elves at HQ x
